Big type fills page fast.
Some of the wood type we have around the workshop is so large in size I’ve often wondered how or where it would ever get used. The paper size is limited to the size of the printing press. The maximum sheet size is 18″x24″ on the Vandercook proofing press that was used for this print.
The type used for this print is 5″ in height. You can’t use many words on a page with letters this size. But I did find a word that fits!
My goal on all four of the prints that are part of this series was to see how far I could simplify the work. I guess this print takes it to the minimum!
